International students are required to obtain a Visa before entering into New Zealand for studies. Applicants applying for student visa need to apply well in advance from the purposed date of start of their studies.

ABOUT FTS SCHEME :
Funds Transfer Scheme has been introduced by New Zealand High Commission is to help and facilitate the processing of student visa applications for Indian Students who want to go to New Zealand to study for more than 12 months.
Benefits :
1.) Allows students/parents to have control over the amount of money that their child has access to in New Zealand;2.) Is cheaper than the bank loan option currently available;
3.) Helps the visa officer more easily determine the ability of parents to fund their child’s tuition and living costs in New Zealand.
How does it work :
Students would have an option to open an approved savings account with ANZ Bank in New Zealand from India and deposit the amount stipulated by INZ for cost of living support funds, into that account. They would then provide evidence of this with their visa application.
Minimum and maximum amount of money required for remittance account:
NZD10, 000 is the minimum amount required to open a remittance account for one year of planned study.
